Registration is now open for Acting on Television – an international symposium, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Critical Studies in Television.
University of Reading, Department of Film, Theatre and Television, 8 April 2016.

Keynote speakers:
Jonathan Bignell is Professor of Television and Film at the University of Reading. His books include the monograph Beckett on Screen (2009) and the co-edited collections British Television Drama (two editions, 2000 and 2014), Popular Television Drama (2005) and A European Television History (2008). He will talk about ‘Performing Television History’.

Actor Phil Davis, who has been described by The Guardian as ‘the unsung hero of British character acting’. An award-winning, highly esteemed actor whose extensive career spans theatre (NT, RSC among others), film (with a long association with Mike Leigh) and television (Being Human, Bleak House (BBC) among others). We look forward to discussing with him his work, acting for television and overall experience as a professional working actor.
