Nome: Catarina Duff Burnay

PhD (2011) in Communication Sciences at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), with a project about Azorean television fiction. She has a Master’s in Communication Sciences (2004) and a Degree in Social and Cultural Communication (2000) from UCP. She has been a Lecturer at the Human Sciences Faculty (FCH/UCP) since 2002, where she teaches Publics and Audiences in the Social and Cultural Communication course. She is a member of the FCH Journal Comunicação & Cultura, a scientific assistant of the Communication and Culture Research Centre (CECC/FCH/UCP) and pedagogical assistant of the Pos-Graduation in Television and Cinema (FCH/UCP). She collaborates with the Investigation Centre for Media and Journalism (CIMJ) and is a member of the Portuguese team of the Ibero-American Television Fiction Observatory (OBITEL).

Her main research areas are television studies and fiction contents and she has presented her research works in national and international conferences and seminars.
