We are proud to introduce the Journal of Alternative and Community Media. The journal is published by Griffith University ePress with support from the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Community Communication section and the Griffith Centre for Cultural Research.

Journal launch:
The journal was officially launched at a special event during the IAMCR 2015 Congress in Montreal, Canada on July 13. Founding editors Chris Atton (Edinburgh Napier University, United Kingdom) and Susan Forde (Griffith University, Australia) are grateful to Professor Dorothy Kidd
(University of San Francisco, United States), who is a member of the journal’s Editorial Advisory Board and helped launch the journal.

Call for submissions, Volume 1:
The journal now seeks submissions of 6000-8000 words from authors conducting quality, rigorous research that advances knowledge about the history and contemporary theory and practice of alternative, community and activist media and communication forms. Volume 1 will be published
