The aim of the journal is the dissemination of academic studies in order to contribute to a better understanding of contemporary society. In this sense, it is open to the publication of results of theoretical, methodological, or empirical research at national and international level. The journal covers a wide range of subjects enrolled in the field of sociology and social sciences, as studies of
public opinion, methodology, demographics, structure and social change, political science, sociological theory, anthropology or social psychology. Papers are published in Spanish, English, Italian, Portuguese and Catalan. OBETS is indexed in different databases as Scopus or ULRICH’S Periodicals Directory.

For the next issue, OBETS is interested in receiving proposals focused on the analysis of the interrelations between communication processes, civil society and social change. Submissions should address questions such as the following:
– Communication and social change: epistemologies and indicators
– Discourses, representations and empowerment.
– Journalism, media and social change.
– Commercial communication and social change.
– Social mobilization and communication.
– Cyberactivism and social movements.
– Education and media.
– Transmedia narratives, artivism and social change.

Priority will be given to works that communicate results of original academic research and use the IMR&DC+B structure (introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusions, and updated
bibliography).

Deadline for sending articles: October 1, 2015. Please include the text “CALL FOR PAPERS: COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL CHANGE” in the subject of your sending.
