1. Media & Jornalismo accepts articles that fit into the areas covered by the journal: media, journalism and democracy; media and social identities; media history; ethics and deontology of journalism; political economy of the media; communication strategies; television and society; information technologies and journalism; new journalistic and media formats; journalists as an interpretative community.
2. The articles submitted to the Journal board must be original and shouldn’t be under review for other publication; any exceptions should be made clear at the submission date.
3. Every article will go through a process of double blind peer review. The journal board will take the final decision.
4. The articles can be sent via email (cimjmedia@gmail.com), in Word format, along with a separate sheet with author(s)’ identification and contacts.
5. Articles should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12, 1,5 spacing. Texts should not exceed 50.000 characters (including spaces and end notes). Book reviews should not exceed 8.000 characters.
6. Authors should also provide an abstract (100-150 words) and up to 10 keywords, in Portuguese and English.
7. References should follow Harvard style (author, year: page). In case of more than two authors, use et al. (Brown et al., 1991).

8. Newspaper articles, interviews and personal communications should be referenced in end notes, not in the references’ section. All bibliographic references should be presented alphabetically after the end notes.
9. Quotes with over 40 words should be indented, in size 10 and italic.
10. Tables, graphs and images should be sent separately and their location should be indicated explicitly in the text [Table I here]. Tables must have a short and descriptive title, as well as the data source at the bottom. Data columns should be clearly defined and explicit.
11. Consent: authors are responsible for obtaining the copyright of illustrations, tables or images from other authors in their work.
12. The author will receive the article proofs, so as to ensure that the published version corresponds the submitted one; no substantial changes are allowed.
13. The original submissions will remain with the journal. Authors have the right to republish their material in other publications, as long as the credits of the first publication are attributed to Media & Jornalismo.
