Aberdeen Business School is inviting applications for the post of Senior Lecturer / Reader in Journalism. This is an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development and enhancement of research in this subject. The School has developed significant expertise in work on the creative industries, and the successful candidate will be expected to play a strategic role in extending this body of knowledge, as well as contributing high quality research output to the relevant submission for the next REF. The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of the BA(Hons) Journalism and MSc Journalism courses within the Department of Communication, Marketing and Media. We are looking for candidates with knowledge and understanding of subject areas including online, broadcast and print journalism. Insight into the area of digital media and journalism would be a particular advantage.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • PhD It essential for the postholder to have completed a PhD. 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of contemporary journalism, particularly in relation to the digital age. 

Experience

  • Either academic or industry-related experience relating to the field of journalism.
